How made-to-measure works

  1. Measure

    Measure height and width on the flat back plate of your chime, not the old decorative cover. Measure depth from the wall to the part of the doorbell chime that sticks out the most, with the old cover removed. Round each measurement up to the nearest 1/16 in.

  2. Choose

    Pick a pattern and color, and add a felt insert if you like. The calculator on the product page adds up H + W + D and picks your size.

  3. We make it

    Your cover is made to order in 1–3 business days, then ships free in the U.S.

The cover slides over your chime box and is held by a snug friction fit, so accurate measurements are what make it fit. Each measurement (height, width and depth) can be up to 12.5 in.

Fits Nutone, Broan-Nutone, Newhouse and older chimes

Fit depends on your measurements, not the model number: height and width of the flat back plate, and depth from the wall to the part of the doorbell chime that sticks out the most, with the old cover removed. That's why our covers fit old and vintage chimes too, including boxes with a yellowed or cracked cover. It also works as a replacement doorbell chime cover when the original is missing or broken.

Your size is set by the sum of Height + Width + Depth in inches. You don't have to choose: the calculator on the product page picks it, and your exact measurements are saved with the order.

Our single-color patterns (Louver, Stars, Arches and Flowers) come in 10 colors: White, Black, Caramel, Gold, Dark Blue, Dark Red, Dark Brown, Dark Chocolate, Dark Green and Lemon Yellow. The Two-Tone Louver comes in 6 color pairs: Caramel/Chocolate, Bone White/Black, Desert Tan/Cocoa, Olive/Chocolate, White/Navy and Beige/Black. Other pairs are available on request.

How do I find my size?

Take the old cover off and measure height, width and depth, in that order. Measure depth from the wall to the part of the chime that sticks out the most. Round each measurement up to the nearest 1/16 in (up to 12.5 in each). Add them together. Your total sets the size: X-Small is under 12 in, Small 12 to under 14, Medium 14 to under 16, Large 16 to under 18, X-Large 18 to under 20, and 2X-Large 20 in and over. A total exactly on a limit goes to the larger size.

Will it fit my chime?

Iledecor covers fit Nutone, Broan-Nutone and Newhouse chimes, as well as vintage chimes, because each one is made to the measurements you give us rather than to a model number. It's also a replacement when your chime's original cover is missing.

What is the felt insert?

Felt is an optional insert. It covers the chime's parts so they don't show through the cover's pattern. You can choose it on the product page.

Is shipping free in the U.S.?

Free U.S. shipping on every order, no minimum. The cover ships on its own, so you do not need to add anything else.

What material is a cover made from?

It is made to order in PLA to the height, width, and depth you measure. Every style uses that same material.
